Established to provide data baselines for residential water quality.
FreeTapTest was established as a Technical Data Initiative to provide homeowners with absolute analytical clarity. Our mission is to bridge the gap between high-level municipal reporting and the specific environmental inputs of individual residential assets.
By providing forensic-grade laboratory screenings, we enable property owners to move beyond 'legal limits' and understand the specific chemistry of their home's most vital resource. Through the 2026 Regional Mapping Initiative, we utilize a specialist network to waive laboratory fees, ensuring a comprehensive data set for regional water quality mapping.
Your household's vitality starts with its primary environmental inputs. Welcome to FreeTapTest.
A vetted network
To maintain the integrity of our regional mapping, FreeTapTest operates through a strictly vetted network of specialists. The relationship between data and infrastructure is complex; therefore, we match each audit recipient with local specialists who maintain established BBB professional status and WQA membership.
These specialists provide the technical paths required to optimize water quality based on your forensic results. By integrating professional oversight with laboratory data, we ensure that every household has access to a verified Standard of Stewardship for their residential environment.

Some additional information
For qualifying households in select areas, the laboratory screening fee is sponsored through a broader residential water-quality mapping effort.
This means eligible households may request a mail-in kit without paying the lab analysis fee. Return postage of $10.25 is not included.
Availability depends on your area and current program participation.
Once your sample enters our lab, the analytical screening is completed within 3 to 5 business days.
You will receive a secure Informational Profile that baselines every analyte against environmental benchmarks and infrastructure-resilience standards.
Our analysis goes beyond basic surface tests. We screen for critical factors including Lead, Iron, Fluoride, Nitrate, Manganese, Hardness, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).
These insights help you understand exactly what is in your water and how it interacts with your household wellness.
We hope your results show your water is within reference guidelines. However, if contaminants are detected, we provide a clear action plan.
As part of our testing service, we match you with a vetted technical advisor from our network who understands your specific water type and can help to optimize your household water profile.
